Red carpet fashion is an essential part of the celebrities’ image. Audiences follow and talk about the star’s red carpet walk and fashion, only to remember the most iconic ones. However, not every outfit turns out the best for these celebrities, a few failures come along.

So, we have listed 10 such red carpet dress disasters, that celebrities regret.

1. Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton, a singer, and an actress has walked on the red carpet in many iconic dresses throughout her long career. Though many of them amazed people, there were others Parton didn’t like herself. “I think, ’Oh my Lord, you must have thought you looked good,’ and I must have, or I wouldn’t have worn it,” she shares in one of her interviews.

“But I guess I didn’t have nothing better at the time — or I thought it looked good at the moment,” she added.

2. Mariah Carey

Talking about her style in the early days of her career, Mariah Carrey remembers how she fought against the total-black outfits her stylists dressed her in. “They did [put me in a lot of blacks],” she recalls. “It was just like, ahhh, such a long story. You don’t even wanna know.”

3. Diane Kruger

Your trusted designing team can also give you an epic outfit fail, risks don’t always pay off well. For her first Golden Globe, Diane Kruger wore the worst outfits in her career. “I love [the designers], and I don’t know why we talked ourselves into this dress,” Kruger said.

“It was gold, and my belly was exposed, but I decided to do retro hair — I had a short bob then. It was not a good look, and I think that will be remembered.”

4. Kate Hudson

There are times when you just can’t figure out what’s wrong with the outfit. In 2001, Kate Hudson got the outfit of her dreams. “I was 21-years-old and to have Stella McCartney dressing me — well, I felt like the hippest, coolest girl in the world,” remembers Hudson. However, the very next day Kate “turned on the television to find out I was on every Worst Dressed list possible.”

“So I called Stella, and we just laughed, and she said to me, “Look babe, it was the hair, wasn’t it?” laughs Hudson.

5. Jonas Brothers

In the search of a unique style, the Jonas Brothers went through “dark times” in the world of red carpet fashion.

“I think we all had an Ed Hardy phase, where you had the hat, and the T-shirt, and the shoes — and the jeans, if you were lucky!” shares Nick Jonas, speaking about his biggest fashion regrets. “Head to toe. Dark times. But we gotta go through the fire to come out knowing what to wear without looking insane.”

Sometimes, fashion failures turn out to be a reason to laugh at yourself than a tragedy. Ashley Tisdale, for example, cherishes, as she talks about one of the weirdest looks in her life. “I wore this really weird pink camo skirt and this pink furry thing, I don’t even know what it was, but I said, ’Ooh, put me in it!’” she recalls. “And instead of wearing it like you would normally wear it, I was like, ’I am going to do it, have one of my arms out and have it going across my body.’

“At that point, you just have to laugh at yourself!” she shared.

7. Olivia Holt

Many celebrities face challenges in terms of styles, at the beginning of their career. Olivia Holt talks about one of the first red carpet outfits she ever wore. “When I first started, I remember wearing this … I think it was supposed to be a dress, but I wore it as a shirt—long light blue, it looked like a baby gown almost, and I wore it with these brown leggings and knee-high lace-up boots,” she recalls.

“It was kind of scary, and I’m so sad that I did that to myself.”

8. Zendaya

Today, every time Zendaya walks on the red carpet, her looks are talked about, and her fans look for references for her outfits from the movies she stars in. However, even Zendaya had a fashion failure at the beginning of her career. When questioned about her major fashion regret, “A long floral dress I paired with booties,” she recalled.

“It wasn’t very flattering—I hadn’t gotten that far in my style evolution yet. I was 13 at the time, but still.”

9. David and Victoria Beckham

David and Victoria Beckham have often appeared in matching outfits. Mostly the outfits are classy, highlighting the couple’s sense of style. However, the bikers-inspired full-body leather outfit the couple wore in 1999 was a whole another story. “Me and Victoria wore matching black leather outfits once,” remembered David.

“They were Versace. But that’s one when I look back and am like, ’What were we thinking?’”

10. Eva Mendes

At times, it’s not just the clothing that is wrong, it’s the way the whole look works together to be a disaster. Eva Mendes believes that this was the reason that the outfit she once wore, failed. “It was a beautiful dress, but the way I put everything together, it was a Princess Jasmine gone wrong,” she recollects. “The strapless, purple dress with necklaces and hair in a really high braid. It’s not a good look.”
