In 2005, a New York City police officer named John Florio ordered a Big Mac and discovered it was loaded with glass when he bit into it. The employee who made the sandwich was charged with a felony and the officer sued McDonald’s for $5.5 million. But in 2014, the case was settled for $437,000.
