Instagram is full of pictures that are drool-worthy and a constant stream of inspiration. Instagram lets you explore gluten-free meals, pretty girls, celebs posing sexy and girls trying on oodles of makeup. But everything changes the moment a new flattering trend comes around.
‘Chinning,’ the picture perfect social media photos that you might have come across, captured using a certain tilted angle and an ideal head tilt, is the newest trend. Michelle Liu, a 21-year-old passionate traveler documents her journey using ‘Chinning’. What is it? Well, like we have all these girls out there using sexy pouts and poses, there’s a less common way where you use your chin and make it the center of attention of the picture. Not to forget, these pictures are taken with laudatory backgrounds. Liu captures the pictures at high angles signifying Instagram users to not to take themselves too seriously.
Liu says, “My chinning entertained my friends all through middle school, high school and college, at which point I decided to share my chin with the world.”
Here is how Chinning has changed the look of Instagram.
Michelle Liu started @chinventures in September 2016.
She takes it with her across the globe, right from Prague to Beijing.
Despite feeling the pressure to stand out from the crowd in middle school, Liu decided to embrace her quirkiness.
She decided to take chinning to the next level.
With the help of her iPhone and a selfie stick, Liu captures her selfies.
She calls her selfies ‘Chinfies.’
She says, “Strangers always notice me chinning…Some appear shocked, others confused, but across the board from my experience, they are usually entertained.”
Her most memorable photos involve for flight attendants.
She said, “I never know how strangers will respond when I explain my account and ask them to take ‘chinfies’ with me but this particular crew was so friendly and open to the idea.”
Michelle admits she wants to be ‘Chinsta- famous’ and we guess she nails them.
