One of them headed north and found love. The other one, named Ausangate, travelled south and found food. He then sent corn, beans and other food to his town so they could survive and each of the mountains colours represent the color of each food.

The scientifical explanation of the mountain’s coloration also has some sort of magic. According to geologists the colours of the mountain are related to the layers of sediments from the region and with the constant movements of the tectonic plates, these layers became mountains.
